Scouting activities teach leadership, citizenship, character development, physical and mental fitness, and coed career achievement.

Programs help children of all backgrounds develop the moral and ethical qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders. After-school education programs enhance classroom achievement.

Community clubs, special interest projects and school enrichment programs assist youth 5-18 in acquiring practical life skills, developing effective interpersonal relationships, and acquiring leasdership abilities through hands-on experiences.

Volunteers provide daily calls to elderly and disabled residents who live alone to ensure their health and well-being and to enable their independence.

Provides transportation for elderly and handicapped residents who have no other means to travel to physician’s clinics, pharmacies, grocery stores and other necessary locations to assist them with maintaining their independence.

 

Home Delivered Meals    327-6999
Caring volunteers provide daily nutritious meals and social interaction for older adults who are unable to
prepare meals for themselves.

 

YMCA (Frank P. Philips Memorial)    328-7696
The YMCA’s mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit,
mind, and body. The “Y” provides outreach services such as Kairos Outside support for family members and friends of individuals who are incarcerated, swim therapy for Parkinson's Disease patients, and more.

Provides long term residential substance abuse treatment for women, including an emergency shelter, transitional and permanent housing for those served by the program.

Program links volunteers age 55 and older with opportunities to share their experience and abilities, including tutoring school children, addressing crime prevention, creating quilts for fire and disaster victims, and clerical work for public, non-profit agencies.
